Cornwall Transit Master Plan

Help Shape the Future of Transit in Cornwall

Cornwall Transit is developing a new Transit Master Plan to guide improvements to local bus service over the coming years. This plan will identify practical, phased actions to make transit more reliable, efficient, and better aligned with community needs.

Whether you ride regularly, occasionally, or would like to in the future — your input is important!

This project aims to:

  1. Grow Ridership: Review routes, schedules, and service levels to better match travel patterns and attract more riders.

  1. Improve Efficiency: Identify tools, policies, and service standards to improve reliability and make the best use of available resources.

  1. Support Future Growth: Plan for service improvements that align with new and growing neighbourhoods across Cornwall.

The final plan will include short-, medium-, and long-term recommendations to guide implementation.

  • How often service operates

  • How transit supports future growth

  • What improvements should be prioritized

Together, we can build a stronger, more accessible transit system for Cornwall’s future.

Project Timeline

The Transit Master Plan will be completed in four phases:

  • January–February: Project Initiation & Scoping - Review current conditions, confirm goals, and establish the project framework.
  • February–April: System Review & Community Engagement - Analyze service performance and gather input from riders, staff, and the broader community.
  • MarchJune: Refining Options & Draft Recommendations - Develop and evaluate potential service improvements and prepare draft recommendations.

  • June–August: Final Plan & Next Steps - Present the final Transit Master Plan, including an implementation roadmap.
