The City of Cornwall is committed to Housing for All as a strategic pillar for this term of council. To get there, the City is developing a comprehensive approach that will lead to more housing options of all kinds, for everyone.

The City is currently reviewing planning rules, zoning, and policies specifically related to emergency shelters as we anticipate future development proposals including for shelter facilities.

Community input is important to the process. We will summarize the feedback we receive in a future report to the Council.

The City is committed to working with residents, developers, and other interest holders to support and ensure we reach the goal of more safe, affordable, and appropriate homes for our growing population. We know that it will take ambition, action, and collaboration to address housing needs now and for the future.

The City will be hosting a public information session on June 18th for you to provide your feedback and learn more about this measure.
