What is Bridge Housing?
Bridge Housing is intensive housing where participants are actively supported to secure permanent housing. It is not a shelter.
Bridge Housing has the following features:
- Offers immediate, safe, and stable housing to unsheltered individuals or those in temporary accommodation that want to exit homelessness or have had multiple attempts at housing and support approaches that have been unsuccessful.
- Provides housing-focused services to connect participants with permanent housing opportunities.
- Addresses urgent needs (health, income, identification, benefits, etc.) that are creating barriers to housing.
- Supports skills-building to shorten the duration of homelessness and ensure success when placed in permanent housing
