Tell us about your remote working experience!

The City of Cornwall is working on a plan to attract more remote workers to our community. We want to know how many remote workers are already in Cornwall, and what their experience is like.

When this survey is complete, the Remote Work Task Force will build a plan to draw even more remote workers to Cornwall.

Defining Remote Work

Let's start with what a remote worker is:

• someone who doesn't go to a central place of work like an office building, warehouse, or store
• someone who can work from anywhere, who works from home, or who has a flexible workplace
• someone who telecommutes or teleworks

For the purposes of this survey, Cornwall residents who are working from home temporarily because of the COVID-19 pandemic are not considered remote workers.

Project Background

Cornwall City Council's Strategic Plan defines priorities for the 2019 to 2022 term. Economic development and pursuing diverse population growth of 50,000 is one of Council's priorities. This includes attracting remote workers via incentives.

In 2020, the Remote Work Task Force began meeting. The task force is made up of City staff and City Councillors, including:
